Principal, Royal Danish Ballet
Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Alban Lendorf began training at age 12 with the Royal Danish Ballet School. He joined the Royal Danish Ballet in 2008, was promoted to principal dancer in 2011 and the later joined American Ballet Theatre as principal in 2015 as well. He has been a guest principal-artist with English National Ballet and Stanislavsky Ballet Theatre. Mr. Lendorf has performed most of the leading roles in the classical ballet repertoire around the world and has won several awards, including the Prix de Benois de la Danse 2013 in Moscow, the European Ballet Award for best male dancer 2014 in Berlin, and he has been Knighted by H.M. the Queen of Denmark in 2014.
